We are working with North West Ambulance Service who are the provider of the Urgent Care Desk in their emergency operations contact centre based in Manchester. Due to the success of the service the call volumes have increased and we are looking for urgent care practitioners to join the teams to re- triage calls effectively and assist patients to the right service in order to deal with their health issues.

You will be responsible for ensuring hear and treat services are delivered safely to a wide spectrum of patients. Using your professional judgement and supported by decision making software it will be your responsibility to clinically assess patients and report this information, including:

-Secondary triage of AMPDS Green 3 & 4 coded incidents,
-Triage of other activity as determined by a Specialist or Advanced Practitioner,
-Delivery of role appropriate clinical support and provision of assessment, treatment and referral at the point of first contact by attending to patients in a variety of clinical and non-clinical settings, according to patient need and all in line with trust and UCD standard procedures.
-Re-Triaging mid-high priority calls where an emergency disposition has been deemed appropriate by 111 nurses.

Successful candidates will hold a current NMC or HCPC registration & hold at least two years post-registration experience in a pre-hospital, Emergency Department or Primary Care post.

This is a temporary role with full time hours available on an ongoing basis. You must be flexible on your working hours and be able to commit to at least 15 hours per week. We particularly welcome applications from paramedics and offshore medics.
