Upstream Churn Strategy Controller (12 Month FTC)

The Customer Management Strategy establishing & communicating how Sky will perform in the future, recommending changes that will improve performance and helping Sky deliver the trading targets we set ourselves.

We have a great opportunity for an Upstream Strategy Controller (12 month FTC) to join the team to identify new opportunities to reduce churn, produce & share research & analysis to assist in the recommendation of changes to improve upstream performance and to deliver & execute specific key projects.

The Upstream Strategy Controller will work closely with both the Director of Customer Management and Head of Strategy & Performance to develop the Customer Management VOGS (vision, objectives, goals and strategy), 3 year strategy and in year plans. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to continuously identify opportunities from research, insight & analysis to get customers to choose to stay with Sky and thus reduce churn. The Upstream Strategy Controller will work with the Upstream Customer Management Teams to ensure that we are focusing our effort to drive the maximum churn reduction and be responsible for inputting the long-term retention impact into all the business plans across Sky while effectively managing a team of strategy managers to both deliver strategic projects and develop their skills & potential.

Required Experience

The Upstream Strategy Controller will be a highly analytical, logical and numerate individual with strong communication skills & problem solving skills with prior strategy and people management skills. You will have proven experience & skills in managing strategic projects across multiple business areas, implementing business performance improvement with a focus on customer retention/churn and be able to make things happen in a complex, pressured environment while managing stakeholders with differing agendas, strategies & KPIs.

The Upstream Strategy Controller must be an exceptional thinker with clarity of ideas and have the ability to express their ideas in a logical, clear manner to audiences of varying seniority, capable of operating at a senior level with exceptional interpersonal, influencing and relationship management skills. It is essential you have proven experience within a subscription based business and an understanding of customer retention/churn.
