Unix/Linux Systems Support - - 3rd Shift

Resource 1 is in need of a 3rd shift UNIX/Linux Systems Support Analyst for a 6 month contract in Chicago, IL. Selected individual will be responsible for monitoring the system using HP OVO and troubleshooting any system-related issues. Individual will start and control the computer system(s) by means of computer system console, operator checklists and 3rd party software, investigate all messages displayed via monitoring tools and verify that each job input into the system is processed correctly and comes to a normal termination. This position will also involve supporting the operations, product, QA and development tests, writing basic test plans and scripts and creating incident and problem management database records. Individual will be responsible for creating basic recovery plans and procedures and configuration and validation scripts, troubleshooting and correcting standard recovery procedures and taking corrective action on problems, including use of 3rd party support software. Our client is seeking an individual with 5+ years of OVO, TIDAL, Red Hat Linux and KSH/Perl Scripting experience and 2+ years with Level 1 & 2 UNIX/Linux administration. Individual must take a proactive approach in troubleshooting applications and go into detail in problem solving via Service Now and Change Management practices and be capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong verbal, written and presentation skills are extremely important for this position as well as the ability to effectively work with diverse disciplines.
