Unix/Linux Systems Engineer (Dnssec)

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a UNIX/LINUX ENGINEER experienced in DNSSEC to support our client in St. Louis, MO.

Job Overview:
Under general supervision, assists in the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems of basic to moderate complexity. Monitors protocol compatibility standards, develops and implements network enhancements and makes recommendations for improvement. The Unix/Linux Engineer is responsible for network architecture and design.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
- Participates in network planning, network architecture design and engineering
- Integrates communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signalling links and protocols into complete network configurations
- Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution
- Assists in the development and documentation of technical standards
- Implements approved methods of procedure
- Monitors protocol compatibility standards, develops and implements network enhancements and makes recommendations for improvement
- Works on projects/systems/issues of medium to high complexity surrounding network planning, configuration and optimization
- Provides tier support across organizations
- Works on one or more projects as a project team member, occasionally as a project team lead
- Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable
- Know, understand and follow company policy
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
- Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (NCTI, SCTE, BCT/E)
- Ability to maintain and administer UNIX-based (*nix, Solaris, Linux) computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
- Knowledge of networking equipment and most open source services
- Expert knowledge of DNS Design, Operations and Support
- Expert knowledge of DNSSEC Design, Operations and Support
- Extensive experience with Load Balancer productions (Foundry, Brocade, A10, F5, etc)
- Expert knowledge of troubleshooting tools (ie tcpdump, netstat, iostat, traceroute, and snoop)
- Solid understanding of LAN/WAN topology, network protocols (TCP/IP, FTP, NFS, DNS and DHCP), Switches and Firewalls
- Advanced experience with IPv6 Design, Operations, and Support
- Experience with HSRP and various other redundancy protocols
- Experience with DHCP Services Design and Administration
- Experience with system monitoring applications (Nagios, Solarwinds, HP Openview, etc).
