Unix/Linux Systems Administrator

My client is a financial organisation based just outside of Birmingham, looking for a new Linux / Unix administrator to join their team following the promotion of their current SysAdmin.

This is a high availability, 24/7 environment, where you will work around the clock with the development team to investigate and resolve problems. You will be responsible for planning and implementing firmware and patching programs, performance and capacity monitoring, and maintaining Hardware and Software platforms at optimum performance. There is an element of networking involved aswell, so you will need to have awareness of cisco technologies or similar.

Throughout, you will maintain clear and precise documentation on the infrastructure to allow for accurate diagnosis and reporting on an ongoing basis

You will have:
Solid experience of AIX 5.3 and above, and AIX performance tuning, including storage and network
Demonstrable knowledge of HACMP
Experience of other flavours of Unix and Linux including RedHat, Centos, SUSE, Solaris
TCP/IP and other networking protocols
SAN storage solutions (NetApp, HP, EMC, Dell, IBM)
