Unix/Linux Engineer Wanted (93789)

We are currently looking for an Unix/Linux consultant for one of our clients in the area of Eindhoven. It is for a contract with a minimum duration of 6 months. (Dutch speaking)

DELIVERABLES:

- Manage the clients Worldwide Server environment, based on a Unix (Solaris) and Linux (Redhat) in a 7x24 environment.
- Process enhancement towards 1st and 2nd line support teams which are outsourced to a third party.
- Knowledge in how the IT infrastructure is used by the organization.
- Execute changes according to ITIL Process.
- Solve incidents and prevent them where possible by a pro-active attitude.
- Supporting activities like reporting and documentation.

JOB/ROLE DESCRIPTION:

The unix/linux engineer supports the IT Unix/linux server infrastructure based on Solaris and Redhat. The environment services many mission critical applications in a 7x24 environment. The Unix/Linux engineer is closely working together with both IT and business stakeholders.

REQUIRED:

- at least 5 years professional experience server management in a Unix/Linux environment.
- at least 5 year experience on Linux (Redhat).
- at least 5 year experience on Unix (Solaris).

PREFERABLE:

- Experience with VMWare management.
- Experience with Redhat Clustering.
