Unix/Linux Engineer wanted for our end client in The Hague!

Hourly rate: 57,00 Euros

The Unix Systems environment consists of a total of approximately 400 server installations divided between
Linux virtual Servers on VMware hosted on IBM xSeries,
AIX on IBM POWER,
Linux virtual Servers on Xen hosted on IBM xSeries,
zLinux running under zVM hosted on IBM zSeries
Currently a project migrating a mission critical system from Mainframe architecture to Linux based Servers is on-going. This project needs special support with expert knowledge of the Linux operating system (in particular SuSE Linux Enterprise Server distribution), corosync, pacemaker and OCFS2.

Services:
Assisting the project team in all aspects with expert operating system knowledge, ie performing performance test, analyse the results of these tests, analysing
issues on the operating system including Kernel debugging and debugging of the application. Providing advise regarding to the underlying hardware architecture and analyse the impact different choices of hardware will have.
support the project team with in depth Linux operating system knowledge, corresponding to specifications of ITIL L3.
advise the project team in all areas of the interaction between the application and the operating system

Mandatory skills
proven excellent Linux knowledge (SuSE Linux Enterprise Server).
proven excellent knowledge of corosync and pacemaker
proven excellent knowledge of OCFS2
proven excellent experience in performance analysis
experience in analysing core dumps
excellent working knowledge of English

Needed Skills
proven excellent Scripting capabilities (ksh or Perl)
team worker being able to work independently and be pro-active
ability to work in a multicultural international organisation
