Unix Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

THE TASKS:

Being the first point of contact for questions, problems and problems with applications and technical infrastructure. You give first line support to customers, answer questions and if necessary, you ensure that cases are passed to a 2nd or 3rd line support organization, but remains responsible for communication to the customer. Furthermore enter your preventive maintenance on systems to customers. Providing assistance and support to new projects and changes also belongs to the tasks. Walking standby services, working outside office is also part of this function. System implementation including installation, implementation, configuration on remote or on (global international) location. Administers the work performed by him or her.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum MBO ICT training. Experience as an engineer. Knowledge of Solaris/Unix/Linux (one of the three is required).
TCP/IP Networking with proven experience in these areas. Knowledge of Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, Firewalls and Routers have a Pre.
Good command of English and Dutch.
Flexible, no 9 to 5 mentality, willingness to (interrnationaal) travel. Communication skills, and customer service. Able to independently and in teams to operate. Healthy balance between technical perfection and pragmatic approach.
