Unix Administrator

Next Ventures are currently hiring for a Unix Administrator to join a 6months+extensions project based out of Geneva, Switzerland.
Duration - 6months + extensions
Location - Geneva, Switzerland
Rate - Negotiable

Technical

- Extensive experience in AIX administration (AIX 6.1, 7.1)
- Extensive experience in Solaris administration (Solaris 8, 10)
- Extensive experience in Linux administration (RHEL 5.5, 6.1)
- Extensive working knowledge on IBM P series
- Extensive working knowledge on SPARC
- Extensive working knowledge of IBM PowerVM
- Extensive working knowledge of PowerHA SystemMirror;
- Extensive experience in Shell Scripting and/or Perl
- Excellent understanding of troubleshooting, testing, and performance tuning
- Excellent understanding of Job Management (CA Scheduler)
- Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP Networking
- Knowledge of databases (Sybase, MS SQL abd DB2) an asset
- Knowledge of databases of Tomcat and WebSphere Application Server an asset
- Knowledge of databases (Sybase and DB2) an asset
- Storage knowledge an asset
- Certifications: Any AIX, Solaris Adminstration, RHCE, RHCT, VCP.

Non-technical

- Will have the capability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
- Commitment to see each request/issue through to completion, but can also identify when delegation is required.
- Possess the ability to identify areas needing improvement and correct process accordingly.
- Ability and desire to work within a Team Driven environment and be responsible enough to work unsupervised
- Will have the desire to promote themselves and their team within the organization through working proactively with other departments to improve work processes and build relationships
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- A strong understanding of business issues as they impact overall project plans
