Ultrasound Engineer Expert

Job Description

The Senior Ultrasound Engineer is responsible for ultrasound signal path analysis and improvement, transducer array integration, image optimization, and working closely with cross-function R&D groups to develop a winning product. This position reports to the Director of Product Development.

Duties & Responsibilities

-Integrate custom transducer arrays with a multi-channel ultrasound imaging system and generate high quality 2D B-Mode Echo and 2D Color Doppler images of renal anatomy
-Analyze and improve imaging signal path from beam-former through back-end processing and image display, develop and implement signal and imaging processing algorithms.

Required Experience & Knowledge

-MS or PhD degree strongly preferred. Minimum BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical -Engineering, Physics, or other relevant field
-Minimum of five (5) years of experience in ultrasound imaging industry, with a very strong preference for experience in ultrasound system integration and optimization
-Strong understanding of ultrasound fundamentals of array transducers, beam-forming, Echo processing, and Color Doppler processing.
-Systems level understanding of ultrasound imaging hardware and software.
-Ability to apply digital filter design, signal processing, and image processing methods to improve the performance of 2D Echo and Color Doppler.
-Ability to use essential test equipment including oscilloscopes and waveform generators and to design tests for the system level verification of proper hardware and software function.
-Experience with software design, applying commonly-accepted good software design, testing and coding practices and using source control applications.
-Basic understanding of MATLAB, and extensive experience using a scripting language such as MATLAB, Python or IDL for scientific or engineering applications
-Basic understanding of the C and/or C++ programming languages and some experience porting code from a prototyping language to C/C++.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Proven experience in working with cross-functional product development teams to meet the product requirements within the limits of budget and schedule
