UK SHARED SERVICES MANAGER - FINANCE/MIDLANDS - 300 - 400PD

My client, a world leading, global business is looking for a talented Finance Shared Service Manager to join on a 6-12month contract basis.

My clients finance function is arranged into four core areas; UK Shared Services, Commercial Finance, Corporate Accounts and Tax

. Strong accountancy experience
. Bank reconciliation
. Accounts payable/receivable
. Fixed assets

FINANCE SHARED SERVICES MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES;

. People management: identify and take action to resolve performance problems of direct reports and/or members of the team; celebrate and/or reward the significant achievements of others.

. Makes decisions and/or recommendations regarding hiring, training, development and promotion opportunities based on people's capabilities and business needs.

. Provide specific guidance, coaching, training and support to other members of the Shared Services team.

. Manage the team effectively to carry out all duties associated with the accounting processes to prepare accurate monthly financial statements for all company departments and other areas of responsibility.

. Lead change, innovation and continuous improvement with direct reports, peers, project teams and customers.

. Proactively provide a high standard of customer service to all internal and external customers.

. Provide support to cross functional teams as requested; both within the department and broader business.

. Learn and apply the company policies and procedures. Understand their relevance and importance to internal controls.

. Apply diligence to ensure integrity and accuracy of inputs and financial data.

. Provide clear guidance on compliance to procedures and key processes; reviewing quarterly compliance assessments and reconciliations to agree actions which ensure control relevance and risk mitigation. Escalate any non-compliance issues as appropriate.

. Ensure prompt and complete payment to all suppliers and other associated companies/charities.

. Express complex ideas and positions in a clear, concise and timely manner; Involvement in Management, team and business/supplier meetings, also high level communication to Senior Hierarchy.

. Contract management, to ensure supplier compliance and delivery according to terms of engagement. Challenge existing process to identify areas of potential business benefit.

. Maintain internal control procedures to safeguard the financial integrity of the company.
