UK Finance Controller/Director

Our client requires an experienced UK Finance Controller/Director for an initial 3 month contract based in London

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced financial accountant to lead the UK team. This role reports into the European VP Finance and has line management responsibilities as well.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)the following:

Managing the month end close procedure. Supervising the existing accounting team of 5 to ensure month end is completed within the timeframes outlined in the month end timetable.

Review and approval of certain key reconciliations and journal entries as part of the month end procedures

Managing the external audit process for all entities; liaising with the audit manager to ensure timely filing of all financial statements.

Completing special projects as they arise. This will include a review of whether we should implement local GAAP or IFRS for the UK entities, as well as the implementation of desired GAAP once the decision has been made.

Perform monthly balance sheet and P&L reviews for all entities within the region.

Ensuring monthly/quarterly reporting is delivered to Senior management both locally and at Corporate in line with current deadlines.

Ensure key processes are appropriately controlled and implement control improvements as identified.

Manage SOX compliance for the main UK entity and ensure any CAP items are resolved in a timely manner.

Pre-requisites for the role:

University graduate with at least a 2.1 degree

Qualified ACA/CIMA candidate or equivalent

At least 5 years PQE.

Preferably an individual from a practice background with at least 2 years in industry
