UI Designer

As a VISUAL DESIGNER you will be responsible for design world class visual UI in support of mobile devices across multiple platforms. YOU ARE A PRAGMATIC VISIONARY THAT CAN TRANSLATE BUSINESS NEEDS INTO FANTASTIC, ELEGANT, CUSTOMER-FOCUSED SOLUTIONS. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment. The ideal candidate for this position will be at ease visualizing an experience in the abstract and then being able to drive that vision into solid design deliverables.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Create world-class customer experiences and beautiful visuals that support and reinforce the client's vision, brand, and business objectives across all platforms
- Analyze user interface problems and create on-brand visual design solutions that meet measurable business goals and requirements
- Create style guides and design pattern libraries in support of brand, cross-platform experiences and merchandising

REQUIREMENTS:

- At least 3 years of experience as a Graphic or Visual Designer
- Portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating beautiful user-centered design solutions and print and/or interactive advertising
- Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator
- Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups and style guides
- Experience with other tools including Fireworks and Dreamweaver a plus
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
- Relentless desire for innovation, balanced with business needs, and customer expectations
- Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, User Experience Design, or equivalent professional experience

PREFERRED:

- Team player with refined and assertive leadership skills, ie ability to positively influence change through inspirational design, solid rationale, supporting data and diplomacy
- Knowledge of information architecture, usability, and UI Design
- Illustration, prototyping and/or multimedia skills
- Ability to work cross-team and synthesize feedback and input from product management, marketing and development
- Understanding of mobile design platforms (including iOS, Android, and WinPhone) as well as HTML, CSS and basic technical considerations
- Familiarity with typography and print design
- Experience designing user-facing retail products
