TSM Backup Engineer

For our customer in the Zurich area we are looking for a

TSM Backup Engineer (m/f)

Tasks:

- Design backup solutions to meet the requirements of all regional customers, within frameworks specified by Architecture.
- Engineer (Build) and test solutions and document accordingly
- Investigate and resolve incidents impacting the backup estate, including complex problems
- Perform pro-active maintenance, including firmware, microcode, license keys, upgrades etc)
- Use tuning tools to optimise performance of the infrastructure, to ensure that agreed service levels are met.
- Ensure adequate monitoring/alerting is in place to identify system issues
- Monitor utilisation of the infrastructure, to ensure that capacity is available to meet planned requirements
- Undertake project activities, including Tech Lead function, as required
- Support the Infrastructure Delivery function (offshore), and its further development

Requirements:

- At least 2 years' experience and a strong understanding and management in Tivoli Storage Manager
- Formal vendor-approved accreditation is advantageous
- Experience in technically leading large infrastructure projects
- In-depth knowledge of both SAN and also Backup & Recovery architectures and technology
- Extensive hands-on technical experience in IBM Tivoli Storage Manager in Window environment (versions 6.2 and 7)
- Spoken and written English
