Trial Technician

Our client based in Ridsdale is looking for a Trials Technician to support the Trials Engineers in the conduct of specific trial programmes and ensuring the facilities and equipment are adequately maintained. This is an initial 4 month contract paying up to £17.82 per hour on a limited/umbrella company rate.

Additional Information
*Support trials and test as and when required to Customer Specifications.
*Compliance with the requirements of SHE legislation for self and others.
*Work to written procedures as defined in the Trials Specifications and all other range procedures ensuring work is carried out in accordance with local and company quality standards.
*Operation and maintenance of weapon systems and associated trials equipment/instrumentation.
*Safe conduct and provide support for the effective running of trials.
*Creation and maintenance of trials documentation.
*Communicate and satisfy Customer's expectations.
*Provide supervision for contractors and visitors.
*Provide assistance in the design and manufacture of target frames, stands and arenas.
*Contribute to risk assessments.
*Request SAP PM orders and raise Engineering Requests when required.
*Responsibility for housekeeping in allocated buildings and areas within Ridsdale Range.
*Responsible for ensuring all equipment used on trials is maintained to the required standards.
*Responsible for routine equipment checks and maintenance.
*Post trial cleaning of all storage and test buildings.
*Report faults through line management.
*Comply with site explosive management procedures.
*Upkeep of magazine records.
*Comply with environmental management system.

*Understands the requirements of a quality system meeting the requirements of ISO 9001.
*Provide general assistance to Projects and trials as required.
*Undertake other relevant tasks as required.
*Promote best practice.
*Continuous improvement of activities within direct control.
*Prepared to work on offsite facilities and sometimes unsociable hours.
*Work in all weather conditions.

The Individual
*Preferably qualified to a minimum of ONC in an Engineering discipline and have at least 3 years experience in a relevant field.
*Operate with a high level of self -motivation, together with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
*Be flexible and responsive to changes in requirements.
*Operate with a positive attitude and outlook.
*Work well within a multi-disciplinary team.
*Communicate clearly, both verbally and by written report.
*PC literate and able to use Microsoft Office applications.
