Transportation Program Manager

Our hugely popular client's Transportation Operations team is seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to assist in leading and representing its frontline business needs.

This Program Manager will assist in leading Transportation Operations Representatives in the management of the daily freight movements for all of North America shipments flowing into and out of corporate fulfillment centers. Position requires constant tactical communication with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Retail, Finance, Software Support, Fulfillment Centers). Contacts include providing status updates and availability of freight, assisting with standard operating procedures and general transportation inquiries. As well as identifying, creating, and training on all new procedures, the candidate will be required to drive process improvements, standardize existing processes and eliminating root cause of defects. This person will need to demonstrate exceptional communication skills while having the ability to work independently and supervise in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Specifically; the Transportation Operations team monitors systems and manually generated reports for exceptions and errors. This person will be responsible for identifying and removing customer pain points to help improve the overall customer experience. Produce and review various performance reports to drive timely and accurate results. Work within various stated timed constraints to meet critical business needs and deadlines, while measuring and identifying activities performed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree required
- 2+ years' experience in Transportation and/or Supply Chain operations
- 2+ years' experience in personnel management/supervision
- Must be flexible to work day/night/weekend shifts as necessary
- MS Office experience required
- Expertise in Excel and creating Pivot Tables
- Proficiency in the use of SQL and/or other data management systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Excellent written and oral communication skills including an ability to communicate with all cross functional teams (technical and business)
- Demonstrate a fast learning curve and ability to take on increasing responsibilities
- Strong organizational and multitasking skill set, with an ability to balance competing priorities a must
- Working knowledge of LEAN and SIX SIGMA methodologies and familiarity with Oracle Business Intelligence tools a plus
- Passion and drive for excellent customer service

This contract position is expected to be 6 months in duration.
