Transportation Coordinator Job

TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in CARLSBAD, CA.

- 2 years of Logistics experience.
- Knowledge of the transportation market.
- MS Excel and SAP experience.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- The position shall have the responsibility to arrange and manage multi-mode logistics shipments, conduct bid events, and award logistics services to vendors.
- As part of these responsibilities, the candidate will execute transportation strategies, cost estimates and global contracts.
- The candidate must effectively communicate and network with the various functions and business units (Project Development, Project Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing).
- The shipping coordination will mainly be domestic truckload and heavy haul. There will be some arrangement of air freight shipments. As part of the shipping process, the candidate will oversee carrier qualification processes through ongoing assessments of their financial stability and process controls around safety, security, insurance and performance.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- S. degree or Associate's degree in Supply Chain is desirable.
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience in logistics is preferred and the ideal candidate should have specific experience in supplier negotiations, carrier management and development of shipping strategies.
- Knowledge of transportation market, commercial terms including Incoterms, and project management is a plus.
- Must have strong communications skills both written and oral.
- Experience with SAP, Excel and data analysis is necessary.
