Our client urgently seeks a Transport manager to manage their distribution and customer service operation, You would be pivotal in managing a superb facility for their market leading products which are all handled under one roof which handles all supply chain activities from order processing to final delivery to the customer. The role of the Transport Manager is to guide the transportation activities to support our clients pre-set measures for success. The Manager is also required to work alongside both regional and functional directors to develop and implement breakthrough ideas of both servicing the needs of our clients customers, whilst possessing the ability to and create new needs. The successful candidate will need to be able to work in close partnership with our client transportation partners, suppliers and functions in multiple locations. The role involves travel, good communication and interaction with both external and internal business partners to assess the quality of the service provided and identifies opportunities for improvement.

SKILLS REQUIRED
Strong communication skills to enable telephone conversations to be effective with EMEA couriers, many of whom will not speak English as their first language. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Powerpoint. Purchasing experience with using computerized purchase order system. Transportation, Import and Export experience with proven knowledge and track record in Small package and large scale shipments. Experience in International Freight would be desirable. Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills required. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Strong problem solving ability. Awareness and beginner knowledge of the complexities of market legislation to maintain regulatory and fiscal compliance. Demonstrates Leadership Imperatives at the appropriate level. Demonstrates a willingness and flexibility to working hours in line with business needs. Experience of managing 3rd party Transport providers is desirable.
