TRANSPORT ENGINEER

Job Role:

- Drive overall operational readiness for Transport area working with cross domain organizations
- Support HOTO activities, verify and validate documents and provide recommendations
- Provide SME level expertise to Operations teams for Operationalization to areas such as alarm correlation working with the other E2E teams (LTE, EPC)
- Be part of working group meetings with Planning and Operations organizations to ensure activities are tracked and resolved
- Verify and validate process and tools applicable to the transport area and provide domain level expertise
- Provide global competence and knowledge share of best practices
- Provide inputs related to Design Parameters & Design guidelines
- Provide inputs related to desired KPIs & Service metrics
- Document the gaps and recommend the mitigation plan. Define the scope for the further phases of gap closure strategy and provide implementation support.
- Recommend the Mitigation plan with gap closure strategy and implementation support
- Support in activities related to automation and competence readiness

Desired Profile:

KNOWLEDGE OF PRODUCT AND SOLUTION OFFERINGS FROM VENDORS SUCH AS CIENA AND ALU

GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF LTE ARCHITECTURES AND COMPONENTS (IE, RAN, MOBILE PACKET BACKHAUL, EPC) AND REQUIREMENTS (EG, 3GPP)

GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF IP NETWORKS INCLUDING ROUTING PROTOCOLS, QOS, RELIABILITY, SECURITY (CISCO, JUNIPER CERTIFICATIONS ARE A PLUS)

FIRST-HAND KNOWLEDGE OF DEPLOYMENT OF THESE TECHNOLOGIES ON SERVICE PROVIDER NETWORKS INCLUDING THEIR PROS AND CONS

EXPERIENCE OF OPTICAL CORE NETWORKS (DWDM, ASON) & MICROWAVE

AT LEAST >5 YEARS WORKING EXPERIENCE IN IP TRANSPORT DESIGN & OPERATIONS

TOTAL EXPERIENCE: 10-15YRS
