Transport Design Engineer- Transport Design Engineer (DWDM) - SDH

TRANSPORT DESIGN ENGINEER (DWDM) - SDH, DWDM, DESIGN, MIGRATION, IP - 12 MONTH CONTRACT - KSA

My client a leading multinational telecommunication company is urgently seeking Transport Design Engineers. The ideal candidate will come from a public Telecom network operator where he/she has been involved with the planning, design and engineering of the wireless network and been leading a team of engineers responsible for the 2G, 3G and 4G RAN design.

To be considered for this Transport Design Engineer (DWDM) position you must have the following skills and experience:

- Design and Engineering of Long Distance DWDM network to accommodate the traffic growth as per the marketing forecast and business plan.
- The Junction network, a mixture of PtP Ethernet and SDH.
- DMW backhaul of mobile base stations
- DMW long haul network
- Produce all related detailed design and Method of Procedure documents for above mentioned networks.
- Prepare the design plans for migration of Legacy (TDM) transport to NGN network solutions, eg IP backhaul for mobile, NG-SDH, etc
- Set future transport network strategies, transport architecture development and network roadmaps in order to meet capacity demands and business targets for OPEX and CAPEX.
- Leverage a strong knowledge of technology trends for the selection of the most cost effective and best practice transport network solutions.
- Develop transport network BoQs and request for quotations, participate in price and scope negotiations with vendors to finalize the annual project plans and budgets.
- Create and apply necessary processes and procedures to maintain and improve the work efficiency/performance.
- Support implementation activities of transport related projects
- Solid, deep technical understanding of all design and engineering aspects for transport nodes and networks including IP/MPLS core and access, D- and CWDM, SDH, NG-SDH, DMW.
- Experience with Cisco, Huawei, Alcatel-Lucent equipment ranges
- Solid knowledge in TISPAN/ETSI/ITU standards and application thereof on architecture and design of transport networks
- Familiar with IPv4 to IPv6 migration
- Solid experience in a multivendor network environment
- Familiar with design and implementation IP security concepts
- Familiar with Internet Gateways, Caching and filtering systems.
