Job Purpose and Summary:

To carry out administrative functions to manage the transportation of Canon Products across the complete Supply Chain.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

* To monitor daily inbound shipments to port and warehouses and ensure action is taken where necessary to achieve on time delivery into the warehouse
* Ensure all deliveries from all of our warehouses to Canon UK & Ireland customers are carried out satisfactorily and within agreed SLAs. Ensure PODs are received for all deliveries.
* To understand Customs procedures, ensure the relevant declarations are correctly made and carry out reporting to ensure compliance (eg Instrastat, VAT, Extrastat.)
* Ensure export rules and regulations are adhered to.
* Administer all marine insurance claims for Canon UK, including obtaining all documentation to submit claim, logging on the broker system, dealing with disputes with our 3PL providers and ensuring closure of claim. Ensure SLAs regarding management of claims are met. Create reports as required.
* Use reporting tools to provide performance reporting on our major transport suppliers. Highlight any areas of concern to Transport & Customs Manager.
* Raise Purchase order requisitions to 3PL transport providers and advise them of the applicable PO Ref. Check and code invoices to ensure they are accurate and ensure timely processing to enable payment.
* Ensure Oracle documentation is raised to manage all machine movements which are not done in conjunction with a sales order. Ensure customers are invoiced correctly for these requests. Ensure I Base is updated correctly.
* Work with technical distribution carrier to ensure they are carried out on time and successfully resolve any escalations.
* Comply with Company policies and procedures (example SOX).
* Provide a source of specialisation with respect to any transport queries Canon may have and proactively respond to any queries raised.
* Work closely with colleagues in Supply Chain to ensure the realisation of a seamless supply chain.
* Ensure all records are maintained and archived correctly
* Provide reporting as required on day to day activities.
* Any other duties as required

Required Skills and Qualifications:

* Experience in logistics, preferably with a mix of air/sea/truck.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Problem solver
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Decision making skills.
* IT Skills (Exel, Word, Powerpoint and preferably Oracle)
* Numerate
* Attention to detail
* Proactive
* Able to work to deadlines and changing priorities.

Further Information:

Salary: to £24,919 - pro rata (6 month contract)
