Transmission Support Engineer

TRANSMISSION SUPPORT/TRANSMISSION ENGINEER/TRANSMISSION SUPPORT ENGINEER.

MUST BE UK LEVEL 1 SECURITY CLEARED! OR MUST HAVE HAD THIS SECURITY CLEARANCE IN THE PAST!

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a long term project with a rapidly growing company.

The Transmission Support Engineer will perform a system integration role to develop a microwave radio based network solution. The engineer will own the integration from concept through to deployment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Convert the design concept and approach into a tangible deliverable using Microwave Radio, Multiplex Equipment and NMS platforms.

TO DO THIS THE ENGINEER MUST:

- Gain an expert understanding of the clients microwave portfolio and supporting products.
- Act as the single point of contact for all technical queries from the customer.
- Health & Safety instructions & regulation compliance.
- Quality instructions & regulation compliance.
- Pro-active and logical approach to problem solving & issue resolution
- Work closely with the sales team and product development teams.
- Act as the single point of contact for all technical queries from the customer
- Interface with customer's technical authority and develop customer relationships with technical decision makers and/or influencers, building trust & confidence in the client as a suppliers and/or partner
- Capture customer technical requirements and provide comprehensive and timely responses
- Develop and maintain an awareness of market and technology trends within the frame of the technologies/disciplines supported by the Wireless Group
- Promote internal & external image by behaving in a professional manner at all times.
- Setup, write and control procedures and documentation
- Liaison with Partners & Stakeholders
- Internal & customer meeting attendance which may include the delivery of presentations.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

- Strong experience in current microwave radio experience
- Strong experience in current PDH, SDH & Ethernet product experience
- Practical Field Experience
- Customer Contact
- DCN design
- Knowledgeable in microwave hardware components
- Knowledgeable in multiplex equipment.
- Good communication skills: Internal & External
- Commercial acumen
- UK driving licence

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

- Radio link planning
- Packet network Design
- Project Management

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Other Vendor product experience.
- To quickly gain a full understanding of the clients microwave portfolio.
- Good working knowledge of PDH and Ethernet packet technologies
- Fully competent in PC skills: Microsoft Office.
