Transition Lead

This is a unique opportunity to create the basis of a new market. Ofwat, the economic regulator of the water and sewerage sectors in England and Wales, is introducing competition for the supply of water services to non-domestic customers under the Water Act 2014. It needs to establish a new organisation to do so and the key is setting up robust and necessarily bespoke IT systems to deliver its effective operation.

As one of three key roles, you will be involved from the very start of the project to shape and deliver the IT Systems and Services needed. You will be responsible for Open Water's role in the key transition activities which will be needed to bring the market operator into operation. These activities include data migration, user testing, implementation planning and recruitment and training of the supporting team.

The key requirements of the role are:

- Prior experience of a substantial nature in transition management particularly around data migration and testing activity, preferably in a market implementation environment
- Credibility, gravitas, high quality communication skills. The post holder will need considerable diplomatic skills in eliciting the active cooperation of the market players in this complex process.
- Programme planning skills
- Leadership capability
