Transfer Pricing Manager

My client is a large banking group hiring for a Transfer Pricing (TP) specialist. The candidate will need documentation and benchmarking experience within TP - preferably within a financial services environment.

Transfer pricing is an acknowledged risk for the banking Group, operating as it does in an increasingly complex fiscal and operational environment in 60+ jurisdictions across the world. The deteriorating economic climate has prompted extensive investment in audit resource by fiscal authorities worldwide in order to increase their tax take, leading to aggressive and persistent challenge of the Group's policies.

Role and Responsibilities:

To act as a key member of the banks Transfer Pricing Team, performing economic analysis and drafting Transfer Pricing documentation, working collaboratively with Transfer Pricing colleagues.

Specific tasks to include:-

*Assist the UK and regional tax centres with their compliance obligations with identified intra-group transactions.

*Prepare economic analysis of identified intra-group transactions including use of third party databases to benchmark arm's length returns.

*Gathering of large amounts of data from world-wide sources for collation, interpretation and application to create robust transfer pricing economic analysis.

*Perform necessary industry analysis of specific business areas.

*Analyse business functionality and draft well organised and concise transfer pricing documentation that explains complex business arrangements and intra-group transactions to meet the compliance obligations of the relevant tax function.

*Develop strong working relationships with members of the Transfer Pricing team and wider Tax team.

*Documenting Global Transfer Pricing policies when appropriate.

*Preparing Transfer Pricing Implementation Guidelines when appropriate.

*Assisting the Global TP function in conducting Transfer Pricing Functional Analysis interviews with different businesses.

*Assisting the Global TP function with implementation/sense-check reviews across different businesses.

*Modelling tax payments and assessment.

Person Specification:

Ideally the candidate would have the following knowledge, experience and qualifications:

*Degree educated, preferably an accounting, business, economics or law degree.

*Part qualified accountant, tax professional or relevant business experience.

*Previous experience of working in Transfer Pricing and a good general knowledge of the other direct and indirect taxes impinging on the conduct of business across the Group.

*Highly motivated and able to apply judgement during projects to delivering quality, timely output.

*Excellent communication skills and team player.

*Ability to use external databases to produce robust economic analysis to set/support intra-group transactions.

*Computer literate and capable of project management.

*Ability to work under pressure to demanding deadlines. Thus organisation and time management skills are a must.

*Well developed analytical and literary skills.
