Training Specialist

TRAINING SPECIALIST - DSAT

A Training Specialist with DSAT and Course/Instructional Design is required to work on a six month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Telford.

This is a 6 month contract with a leading UK defence business.

OVERVIEW OF THE TRAINING SPECIALIST CONTRACT ROLE

- Design and develop new training material for Operators and Maintainers for vehicles and equipment in accordance with the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) to include the following:
- Task Scalars
- Operational Performance Statements
- Job Specifications
- Formal Training Statements
- Instructional Scalars
- Assessment Strategies
- Instructional Specifications
- Analyse and update existing course material on a variety of vehicles and equipment.
- Participate in cross-platform meetings to share knowledge and identify design and procedural changes that will have an impact on any existing training solutions.
- Liaise with the User community to improve training material content and delivery.
- Conduct Train the Trainer courses as required.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE TRAINING SPECIALIST

Mandatory

- Be an unsupervised practitioner of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT).
- Hold a Course/Instructional Design qualification
- Hold a teaching qualification - Minimum Level 3 Award in Education and Training (Formerly known as PTLLS)

Desirable

- A working understanding of the following:
- JSP 822 The Governance and Management of Defence Training & Education
- Technical Publications including Army Equipment Support Publications (AESP's)
- Computer Based Training
- Blended Learning
- A working understanding of SHE and product safety.

The role is based in Telford, Shropshire - commutable from Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Stourbridge, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Lichfield, Cannock, Stafford, Market Drayton, Whitchurch and Oswestry.
