Training Manager - Client Onboarding, Acc Management - Banking

Training Manager, Client Onboarding, Account Management, Investment Banking.

Candidates will not be considered unless they have gained experience working within a regulatory environment or within Client Onboarding, Account Management. Experience of application and process training is required.

This is a contract to permanent position and requires extensive experience working within a financial services environment, ideally Investment Banking.

Opportunity to join a leading Investment Bank to manage a small training team which creates strategies for training and designs and delivers high quality training programmes for delivery to a large global audience through a variety of mediums. Role will in part be hands on, requiring the Training Manager to deliver training to end users for a proportion of their time.

It is essential that the successful candidate has significant experience of delivering training courses for bespoke in-house business-process related applications that have been written from scratch and which are undergoing constant extension and enhancement, not customised versions of third party
products.

The bank are NOT looking for candidates whose training/training management experience is largely for talent management or Learning and Development, where the training may be on line but is not training on how to execute a certain complicated and evolving business process using in-house technology.

Essential skills include significant experience of developing and delivering training strategies and plans, including resource planning, across multiple project streams and multiple geographies, ability to work with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into agreed detailed training plans, superior analytical, planning, and conceptual skills, ability to flex and adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines, extensive experience in design of training course content and accompanying supporting materials and extensive experience in classroom system training delivery in global environment.

Must have gained experience of managing others, including developing employee careers, appraisals overseeing work, being an experienced professional trainer.

Individual needs to be hands on, not just a training manager, able to develop the training team, showing them a better way of doing things, knowing what professional training slides and material
prepared for learners should look like, able to manage demanding users, to review and quality check material from others down to grammar and spelling and capitalisation, and consider learners for who English is a second language.

Must be able to cope with a continually changing and unpredictable book of work coupled with a limited size team and high workload.

Self starter, self directed, need to be almost completely self-sufficient, be proactive in finding out what training is required for what projects when, as most project managers don't know when they need to
engage training.

Must be able to define what a training strategy looks like and create appropriate strategies for each project as appropriate, not waiting for direction in this and must be able to manage multiple projects at once, drawing together the 'big picture' impact of what all the project change might mean to end users, understanding the business problem, getting to know the users' jobs and how the apps they are training fit with what a user needs to do day to say.

Must understand IT development life cycle front to back having been involved in user requirements, usability and UAT and be used to training in an environment where the code base changes or has
severe/many defects during training.
