PURPOSE:

To provide understanding and process training, knowledge, skills, experience and accreditation to colleagues, ensuring that capabilities and process/soft skills exists to deliver an improved effectiveness and productivity in all areas

To support the design & delivery of training activity in line with operational business needs. To promote a culture of in-line continuous process and soft skill capability, to equip the people to achieve multi-skilling enabling flexible resource capability across all operations

ROLE AND CONTEXT

DIMENSIONS OF ROLE:

* Designing process based skill training & development sessions for Operations

* Designing and delivery of soft skills training for Operational colleagues

* Act as champion of continuous improvement ethos working with coaching community to identify improvement opportunities across the Operational teams

KEY TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Design and deliver in house training solutions for Operational colleagues, in line with business and legislative requirements

* Support ongoing multi skilling of a flexible workforce across all operational areas

* Work with the business to produce training material with use of operating guidelines for process skill development

* Facilitate skills training with creative delivery capability to support delivery of a multi skilled work force and develop the culture of continuous improvement, enhancing the customer experience, effectiveness and efficiency with the required soft and process based skills

* Research new and innovative solutions to enhance the skills of operations colleagues

* Support Operations in achieving targets and operational goals through effective Process Training initiatives

* Contribute to a 'body of knowledge' and reusable training materials and solutions, stored centrally on a database in a modular style

* Support the implementation of changes and improvements in the line, by providing training and process skills necessary to regain & retain stability.

* Contribute to the evaluation and measurement of the business impact of Training activity and ensure skills knowledge & behaviour is applied

* Work with Improvement Coaches to target 1:1 coaching interventions

* Identify and report instances of process failure, improvement opportunities or inconsistency to People Improvement Lead

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

* Skills match to operational requirements for multi skilling and flexibility across all of operations

* Assist the achievement of business performance targets through the delivery of effective soft and process skills

* Positive feedback on the quality of design of training and outcomes in performance improvement

* Design meets best practice standards

* Courses and materials are delivered against centrally defined learning objectives and formats

* Training to become customer led with improved awareness of availability within Operations.

* Areas covered comply with mandatory training and testing requirements.

* Achievement against personal objectives

REPORTS LINE UPWARDS/DOWNWARDS/SPAN OF CONTROL:

* Reports People Improvement Lead

* Training delivery for c600 F.T.E.

NEED TO DO

AUTHORITY/FREEDOM TO ACT:

* High level direction given from People Improvement Lead, using own capability of designing and delivering material in line with business need.

* The consequence of the role holder's action has a high impact potential on performance and therefore potentially bottom line performance as cost.

NEED TO KNOW

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Level 2 Education in Maths and English

* Relevant training qualifications CIPD desirable

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

* Relevant experience in a financial services organisation training development and delivery environment, ideally in collections, call/contact centre, processing environments
