Progressive Global Energy are working with an award winning Oil and Gas company to source an experienced Training and Competence Specialist. Job Summary Support dedicated platform & MODU drilling contracts through integration with the onshore & offshore teams to provide an effective Competence Assurance System. Maintain & develop the current competency assurance system to match the changing demands of the business. Drive the competency assurance system through effective management of the operational teams to achieve KPIs - crew discipline competency scores. Coach, mentor & develop the Training & QHSE Team to understand, manage & contribute to successful management of competency assurance Design plans & implement integration of OWS on & offshore employees & onshore OD&T employees into the overall competency assurance system. Provide support / advice to international operations within the company The key duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the responsibilities detailed below: * Identify core competencies for applicable disciplines on & offshore. * Design training and development programmes based on the organisation's and individual's needs. * Ensure statutory and client training requirements are achieved. * Train instructors and supervisors in techniques and skills for training employees. * Evaluate & report on the effectiveness of training and development programmes. * Design succession management plans for offshore disciplines. * Communicate career development to all Rig Managers as required. * Regularly review individual employee's competency files periodically. * Develop testing and evaluation procedures. * Manage training material within the company. * Work with assigned client QHSE Advisor, Rig Manager & STCs to drive offshore training & portfolios. * Increase understanding & application of the competency assurance system throughout the company. * Develop Training Co-ordinators in the understanding & application of competency assurance. Qualifications and/or Experience * Higher maritime/technical education or equivalent with practical and/or theoretical knowledge in the discipline * 2 years offshore experience within a drilling related discipline * Qualified & experienced Assessor & Internal Verifier. * 2 years experience in a Training & Competency onshore role * Knowledge and experience with relevant UKCS and flag state legislation * Proficient in the use of IT software & systems * Internal / lead auditor trained & experienced This is a full time position based in Aberdeen.
