SUMMARY:

- Provide Training for all products and customers
- Training for Field Deployment and Engineering personnel, remote or on customer site
- Customer-facing meetings
- Customer relationship management
- Mentoring/Guidance of Deployment engineers and other colleagues
- Manage training schedule and services
- Lead Regional training activities
- Maintains high quality standards
- Trainer to work in the Central and Latin America locations
- 50% travel time expected

TRAINING DELIVERY AND LEARNING THEORY:

- Conduct professional delivery of designed educational courses at customer locations or at facilities, with an emphasis on hands-on learning
- Evaluate existing courses to identify and determine additional training needs.
- Perform instructional task analysis, analyze course goals for skills and knowledge and identify sub tasks.
- Prioritize the development of training packages based on customer needs, product development schedules, and potential for revenue
- Evaluate use of new product and its technology within the cable and telecommunications fields and tailor curriculum to end user needs
- Evaluate the effectiveness of course content and make necessary adjustments to existing materials, testing, and delivery methods
- Travel to customer sites with field engineering personnel to view product in use at beta sites and meet with end users to determine training needs
- Work closely with US-based technical trainers and instructional designers, technical publications, and support personnel to gather input on course development requirements, and to provide feedback from the field
- Define hardware and software requirements for product training and acquire necessary materials to support training objectives
- Deliver internal pilot courses to support personnel and incorporate feedback into developed material
- Deliver product and technology to customers via web conference when appropriate

SKILLS:

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Knowledge of Cable Television and related technologies
- Successful candidate must be a self-starter capable of leading an audience.
- Must be able to diagnose and correct complex IP routing or RF signalling issues in a live CATV network.
- Candidate will have the ability to use industry standard tools to interpret and understand RF variables and recommend corrective actions.
- Candidate will be able to trace IP packet flows through a DOCSIS network, diagnosing points of failure and suggesting corrective actions.
- Strong understanding of DOCSIS/EuroDOCSIS 1.x/2.0/3.0
- Strong understanding of basic RF parameters and signal flows (frequency, power-level, modulation methods, channel widths, signal losses, SNR etc.) in a CATV system
- Understanding of DHCP/TFTP protocols and DOCSIS provisioning suite
- Understanding of IP switching and routing, including commonly used dynamic routing protocols (ie RIP, OSPF, ISIS & BGP)
- Proficient at configuration Scripting via industry standard CLI interfaces
- Basic understanding of CPE device configuration files, service flows and CPE troubleshooting
- Understanding of the OSI reference model, specifically Layer 2 (MAC) as it relates to DOCSIS
- Knowledge of IEEE 802 standards for Local Area Networks and Metropolitan Area networks
- PacketCable and/or SIP based VoIP
- Digital Television, Video on Demand, Switched Digital Video, IPTV
- HFC network technology and optical networks
- Data Networking, TCP/IP, routing protocols
- Network management (eg SNMP based tools and monitoring)
- MPEG2, MPEG4, Video Compression, Digital Modulation
- Fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese
- Training experience with highly technical background
- Trainer will be working with clients to train on CMTS products - CMTS knowledge absolutely necessary
- Must have strong experience
- Must be willing and able to travel and train
