Trading Assistant-Mandarin

I am currently working on an exciting opportunity for Mandarin speaking Trade analysts within a Bank. There are a few contract positions available both at a senior level and at a more junior level. This is a long term contract with scope to go permanent. Rates are flexible based on candidates suitability and expectations.

Role Purpose:

To assist Treasury team achieve departmental objectives through the provision of comprehensive business focused administrative support. To help Head of Business on daily management of treasury business. To act as a point of contact in order to facilitate our service to customers in China and maximize relationships and revenue generation for the Treasury team.

Key Responsibilities:

* To provide full business focused administrative support to the Treasury department.
* To satisfactorily undertake and uphold the existing business: in nature, integrity, volume, price aggression, and customer service and risk diligence.
* To achieve a complete and through grasp of the nature of the existing business, both from a product perspective and a regulatory/legal perspective.
* To be a key driver in the development of the existing products for new customers in order to grow of client/business volume.
* [If CF30 registered] To help market FX and FX derivatives to both CCB branches and counterparties.
* To translate corporate documents to/from Mandarin and English.
* Completion of Head Office reports.
* To assist the Treasury department with managing mainland branches relationships through the provision of basic customer support.
* To assist Head of Business on daily administration work.

Skills/Experience:

Essential
* The ability to sell and to communicate on a professional level with customers;
* Educated to degree level with a major in business management, finance or economics;
* A good understanding of the Treasury department and foreign exchange business;
* Experience in utilising analytical skills in a banking environment;
* Fluent (both written and verbal) in both English and Mandarin;
* Ability to ensure deadlines are met;
* Proactive, self-motivated and well-organized;
* Good communication skills;
* Strong work ethic and team spirit;
* Proficient user of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).

Desired
* Experience in FX trading specifically in CNH market.
* Sales acumen: the desire to successfully transact business;
* Experience in translating corporate documents with financial content to/from Mandarin and English;
* Experience in service orientated and customer focused roles in financial services sector.
