Trading Application Engineer - Trade Support -Chicago

For a leading Trading firm I am currently searching for a trading application engineer for a permanent position within a highly specialized and professional team that takes care of the trading software of this highly renowned company in the financial sector. This role has become available due to expansion of trading activities.

As a Trading Application Engineer/ trade support analyst for the trading infrastructure you work as the technical engineer that makes sure the entire high availability, low latency infrastructure runs smoothly. You make sure that incidents are limited to the bare minimum and you take care of the optimization of the mission critical environment.

Your main responsibilities will include:

- Solving problems and incidents on trading applications
- Implement new trading software
- Update existing versions of software
- Liaise with the trading department, be their main focal point
- Liaise with the development department regarding the trading software
- Optimization of the systems
- Keep on top of innovations in the field

Your profile: MUSTS

- BSc in computing science or equivalent
- You want to learn and develop and are passionate about your job
- minimum 3-5 years working experience as a trade support engineer, and application engineer, data analyst or functional designer (it is a must for you to have a general profile, preferably in different roles within IT)
- excellent technical troubleshooting skills
- Strong Linux/UNIX knowledge
- Strong scripting skills: Bash, Perl, Python, Shell
- Strong networking knowledge
- Fluent English skills, strong communication skills
- Previous working experience in the trading space
