Trade Control Officer - Trade Compliance

Trade Control Officer required for a leading global defence company based in Central London. The candidate will deal with trade compliance support to major bid team for a solution on a major defence bid, brief the implementation team of requirements and prepare solution map and processes meeting all imposed requirements.

DAY TO DAY DUTIES:- - Assessment of bid data and identification of impacted areas for trade control including Export and Import licencing, Firearms and Section 5, COER, ITAR and EAR etc.
- Identification and classification of parts and licenced activities development of a risk register
- Draft and apply for licences and permissions and amendments UK, EU, US plus any additional
- Design and map out processes to manage TC impacted articles; work with wider bid team to ensure proposed solutions meet compliance requirements.
- Create implementation plan with time frames and dependencies table
- Meeting major bid teams time frames with proposed solutions and time frames
- Human Resources by briefing them on compliance requirements
- HM Government for Section 5 Authority and Firearms Dealer.
- HMR&C
- Programme delivery managers implementation team
- Final solution Programme Manager

KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- Knowledge and experience of US Export & Re-export Controls military and commercial (ITAR/EAR)
- Knowledge of UK & EU Export Controls
- Experience with UK HMR&C procedure codes and HS Codes
- Experience in implementation of processes into a project solution
- Experience in communicating with external agencies on compliance matters
- Knowledge of EU Import Regulations and Rules of Origin
- Knowledge of Hazardous goods
- Knowledge and preferably experience of Firearms and Section 5
- Experience in classification of articles under HS codes and licensing legislation
