Town Planner x 3

TOWN PLANNERS X 3 with RTPI MEMBERSHIP required for initial 3 MONTH CONTRACT with PUBLIC SECTOR organisation in EDINBURGH.

Duties will include:

- Take ownership of key planning issues and develop national policy, advise and solutions in response to issues that arise
- Advise on specific development proposals and consider whether emerging policies set out in development plans and supplementary guidance are in accordance with national policy
- Assist the Principal Planner by providing advice on specific planning topics and develop with stakeholders appropriate solutions to issues that arise
- Support the process of finalising the National Planning Framework 3 and the Scottish Planning Policy
- Provide research and analysis input to inform policy development

Essential Skills:

- Current Chartered Member of the Ryal Town Planning Institute
- Record of delivering projects to tight deadlines
- Working with a wide range of stakeholders
- Knowledge of the Scottish Planning System and the Government's Planning Reform: Next Steps Programme
- Experience dealing with planning applications and/or development planning

Candidates must either already hold a valid basic Disclosure Scotland certificate or be willing and able to apply for one prior to CV submittal to the client.
