Town Planner - London - £40/hour - 12 month contract

Job Description

- Reporting to the Planning Manager/Land Director
- The role will be to lead on the submission and negotiation of planning applications alongside the associated day to day planning matters.
- You will be familiar with national and local planning policies and have an ability to interpret them to provide guidance on all matters
- Being proactive in seeking to influence emerging policy will be key to the role as will be the ability to formulate effective promotional strategies to demonstrate the suitability and deliverability of sites.
- You will have the ability to interpret national and local planning policies and to provide advice to the businesses' land and technical teams.
- Preparing, submitting and negotiating planning permission (including the preparation of planning statements/design and access statements/coordination of all associated technical disciplines) alongside attendance at meetings, public consultation events and planning committee is the major focus of the role.
- Taking this through to the implementation of the permission alongside the ability to deal effectively with conditions/S106 Agreements will also be key.

.Candidate Skills

- You will be capable of dealing directly with Local Authority Officers in pursuing applications and above all have the ability to negotiate effectively.
- Relevant RTPI accredited degree
- Experience in Construction Planning
