Tool Design & Interchangeable Engineer

TOOL DESIGN & INTERCHANGEABLE ENGINEER - TOOL DESIGN, MANUFACTURING, CATIA

A Tool Design & Interchangeable Engineer with Tool Design and Catia V4/V5 experience is required to work on a six month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Preston.

This is a 6 month contract with a leading UK defence business.

OVERVIEW OF THE TOOL DESIGN & INTERCHANGEABLE ENGINEER CONTRACT ROLE.

To provide tool design support to the Major Units Manufacturing Engineering Team. This role is a short term role to enable the extant team to deliver the significant Wing to Fuse Test Box tool design work package.

The role will require the maintenance, modification and administration of the existing tooling inventory working in the Catia v4/v5 and Team Centre design life cycle management toolsets.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE TOOL DESIGN & INTERCHANGEABLE ENGINEER

- Maintenance and creation of tool design data in the Catia V4 and V5 toolsets as well as
- Maintenance of the design life cycle management toolset Team Centre.
- The ability to liaise closely with the shop floor manufacturing and wider manufacturing engineering teams.
- SC Clearance Required.

The role is based in Preston, Lancashire - commutable from Blackpool, Lancaster, Morecambe, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool and Leeds.
