Tivoli, System Monitoring/Coding, Bank, Brussels

BACKGROUND:

My client is an international bank based in Brussels.

They are seeking a Tivoli specialist, for the team which is responsible for the design, installation and setup of the monitoring solutions. It is also in charge of the coding of the monitoring rules and works in close collaboration with all technical engineering teams. The monitoring products are mainly IBM, CA (CA NSM and CA USD) and BMC. This is a great opportunity for a junior/entry-level analyst to join a prestigious team at a top bank and benefit from hands-on training and development in the field.

TASKS:

With experience gained on-the-job, you will become responsible for the coding of monitoring rules (situations) on the bank's IBM Tivoli Monitoring platform.

You will code Tivoli situations, validate them in test and deploy them in Production

Debug and code Tivoli situations both on the Back End and agent sides (based on templates provided by the bank's customers); The monitoring you'll put in place will cover the hardware monitoring, OS monitoring, Middleware and application monitoring.
You'll also make sure this new monitoring rules integrates into the bank's global monitoring infrastructure (CA NSM and CA USD).
You will also support the infrastructures in production and will be involved in their upgrades.

SKILLS:
- Degree in computer science or equivalent through hands-on experience.
- 2 years experience in the coding of situations (monitoring rules) for IBM Tivoli Monitoring;
- Technical knowledge and experience with at least on one of the following platforms: Windows, Linux, AIX, Solaris, ESX VMWare;
- Tivoli SITUATIONS;
- Tivoli MONITORING;
- Tivoli monitoring rules developer;
- Tivoli monitoring situations coding.
