Thermal Engineer

Our client in Los Angeles is looking for a & Thermal Systems Engineer who will be a key design engineer working with other engineering team members to develop cost effective Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) and other Waste Heat Recovery Systems. Position focus will be on thermal design, analysis and cost effective manufacturing requirements definition for various types of heat exchangers for a variety of ORC applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide in depth technical expertise to conduct system and equipment analysis to determine the most cost effective design for evaporators, condensers and associated thermal equipment for ORC Systems
- Prepare specifications, statements of work and drawings sufficient to procure/manufacture and integrate HEXs into Access Energy ORC systems
- Provide technical, document, and cost review of heat transfer equipment proposed by suppliers/manufacturers to optimize performance and reduce cost
- Apply standard engineering practices and techniques in specific situations to solve operational and maintenance problems involving HEX equipment and associated components.

REQUIREMENTS

- Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering degree, Master's or PhD a plus
- Minimum 5 - 8 years of relevant experience
- Experience in the HVAC, CHP, refrigeration or similar process industries
- Knowledge in HEX design and manufacture, its practical application and applicable industry codes and regulations.
