TETRA SYSTEMS/NETWORK ENGINEER - UPDATED

Our customer works for a major international oil company. You will be part of a project to build up TETRA (DiMetra) infrastructure with base in their sites/secure camps in Iraq.

REPORTING TO: Tetra Project Manager

QUALIFICATION: Technical Degree Telecommunications or equivalent experience

Role Purpose:
Reporting to the Tetra Project Manager, you will be responsible for the Tetra System/Network (Motorola Dimetra IP Compact) infrastructure, assisting in the Network Testing and Acceptance and moving the system in to an Operational environment in line with business requirements.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Customer Testing and Acceptance of Tetra Network (MSO/Coverage/BTS)
- Provide technical advice through, analysis of current system design and providing recommendations.
- Installation and configuration of network hardware (base stations, repeaters Routers Switches, etc).
- Evaluates communication hardware and software, troubleshoots all network related problems.
- Provides technical expertise and solutions for performance and configuration of networks.
- Provide technical experience in design of fault-tolerant radio Networks, performance tuning of network infrastructure including, Core and base stations elements.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on the Tetra infrastructure environment.
- Provides direction to lower level technicians regarding problem determination and resolution.
- Provide mentoring and training to customer resource as directed.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of more complex telecommunications outages, such as hardware malfunction, configuration errors, telecommunications circuit or service outages.
- Terminal and Network Configuration.
- Fleetmap update/changes.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- Experience with Telecommunications/Data Communication systems.
- TETRA NMT/MSO and Dispatch Terminal Configuration.
- Hardware/Software design or support, fault finding or integration, verification and test.
- A good understanding of Network Management systems.
- Experience within a Tetra Network Operational environment.
- Network Performance and Fault rectification.
- No restriction for travel. Must be able to pass security and medical check.
- Available to work in Iraq. You will be working under protection and in secure camps.
- Fluency in English, Arabic will be a plus. Military background/semi military background a plus.
