JOB DESCRIPTION: TEST ANALYST

BACKGROUND TO ENGAGEMENT TEST ANALYST

My client a leading energy provider is looking to engage two TEST ANALYSTS to join then at their Exeter location on an initial 5 month contract. As TEST ANALYST you will join the test team who are responsible for assuring the quality of Requirements and Designs, plus the proposed test coverage and the evidence from testing carried out. The team are not normally involved in testing the software directly but must be able to guide assigned business users to conduct a structured User Acceptance.

As TEST ANALYST you will be responsible for providing documentation as agreed with the Test Manager and the project for the Work Package and for providing a point of communication and escalation for all issues relating to testing for the Work Package.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: TEST ANALYST
* Required to minimise costs by reviewing the Work Package requirements and drafting a Test Proposal confirming that they are testable. Responsible for preparing the Work Package Test Phase Plan specifying the scope of testing, different Test Phases required and identifying dependencies.
* Responsible for agreeing a test approach with the development team and for reviewing and validating the results to assure quality. Understands business priorities and ensures that these are met by efficient test coverage.
* Maintains visibility of risks, assumptions, issues and decisions that affect testing or the wider project by logging them and working with the project & test manager to manage them.
* Secures test environments and organises preparation of test data, executes or co-ordinates execution of tests, ensuring results are recorded, issues and defects logged and managed through to resolution, by liaising with development teams, 3rd party suppliers and the Business as required.
* Obtaining sign off and exit from planned Test Phases from agreed Stakeholders.
* Document End of WP Test Reports and input to Lessons Learnt exercises, by agreement with the Test Manager.
* Attend and represent DICE Test team at Go/No Go meetings on request from project/test manager
* Delivers success by working under her/his own initiative and as part of a motivated team.
