Test Technician

Our client in South Worcester Count is looking to add (2) Sr Test Engineering Technicians to their staff. These are contract-to-hire opportunities. The position is responsible for the building of prototypes, testing and debugging new manual and automated Production Test Systems for industrial inverters and accessories. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience and an Associates Degree in Electronics or the equivalent.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist in the development and construction of production test Systems.
- Electrical and Mechanical assembly.
- Test System Software and assist with debugging
- Documentation
- Supply Manufacturing Test Support
- Troubleshoot and resolve production problems, with both the test systems and products
- Provide Sustaining Engineering Support
- Conduct failure analysis of drives and components
- Conduct experiements to resolve field, manufacturing, and/or test issues

REQUIREMENTS

- Minimum 3 years of experience debugging electronics analog and digital circuits to component level.
- Knowledge of power electronics in the area of inverters, power supplies or amplifiers is helpful.
- Strong mechanical skills with the ability to assemble hardware without the use of drawings.
- Can work in a very dynamic environment switching to different tasks on a day to day basis.
- Can figure out and overcome problems to complete given assignments.
- Excellent understanding of basic electronics.
- Experience in the use of test equipment including oscilloscopes, power supplies, volt meters, electrical safety testers, etc.
- Familiarity with hand tools and light duty machine shop equipment use and safety.
- Strong soldering (SMT preferable) and assembly skills.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
