Test Pilot

Test Pilot required for a world leading Defence and Aerospace company based out of Boscombe Down or RAF Conningsby to conduct flight tests on fast Jets. This position will be for a 3 month initial contract with a pay rate of between GBP 400/GBP 600 per day. The position is for 3 days a week done on a rotational basis working on average 20 hours per week.

Roles and Responsibilities

* Providing critical review of airworthiness advice reports from a safety/in/role perspective

* Conducting Test flights on Companys Fast Jet Aircraft

* Applying through/life technical scrutiny of Test and Evaluation strategy and plans

* Validating anothers assessment work against customer requirements

* Applying an appropriate line of questioning, both in level and depth

* Providing holistic technical assurance in context of safety in role

* Identifying whats missing (eg from an argument and/or evidence

* Applying Test Analysis in a proportionate way, according to perceived risk

* Providing comments and debriefs in a constructive manner, providing beneficial learning from experience to the originator of the work

* Remaining objective whilst exercising balance and judgement

* Complying with Company Governance as applicable to Test Analysis

* Providing a valued operator perspective into the independent technical evaluations of design changes and of the associated safety arguments

Essential skills and competencies

* Experience in Experimental Test Pilot or Evaluation Pilot role with at least 24 months test and evaluation experience Recent Fast Jet Test Pilot experience

* Recent experience of providing aircrew/focussed technical assurance of formal air system safety assessments

* Sufficient knowledge of Typhoon/Tornado systems and operating contexts

* Industry experience relevant to Fast Jet test and evaluation experience

* Ability to provide operator perspective into technical evaluations and design changes

* Up/to/date knowledge of MOD Air Safety Environment and Airworthiness Regulation

Desirable Skills and competencies

* Up/to/date knowledge of MOD Air Safety Environment and Airworthiness Regulation

* Experience of using DOORS tool

* Recent Typhoon Test Pilot Experience

* Test pilot Experience across several Fast Jet types

* Experience of working in ATEC environment
