Thames Water Utilities Ltd, known as Thames Water, is the private utility company responsible for the public water supply and waste water treatment in large parts of Greater London, the Thames Valley, Surrey, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Kent, and some other areas of in the United Kingdom. Thames Water is the UK's largest water and wastewater services company, and supplies 2.5 gigalitres of drinking water per day, and treats 4 gigalitres of wastewater per day. Thames Water's customers comprise 27% of the UK population.

Thames Water is responsible for a range of water management infrastructure projects including: the Thames Water Ring Main around London; Europe's largest wastewater treatment works and the UK's first large-scale desalination plant. Infrastructure proposals by the company include the proposed £4.2 billion London Tideway Tunnels, and the proposed reservoir at Abingdon, Oxfordshire, which would be the largest enclosed or bounded reservoir in the UK.

Thames Water is regulated under the Water Industry Act 1991 and is owned by Kemble Water, a consortium formed in late 2006 by Australian-based Macquarie Group's European Infrastructure Funds specifically for the purpose of purchasing Thames Water. Other large shareholders in recent years include: BT Pension Scheme (13%), the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (9.9%)  and the China Investment Corporation (9%).

A project is in progress to replace the current customer services telephony solution with a new IP Contact Centre (IPCC), Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and Workforce Management (WFM) solution and you will be joining the project just as the physical build of the solution commences, prior to the handover for the test phase of the project. The project is being delivered in conjunction with Unify (ex-Siemens Enterprise Comms Ltd and Wipro).

Essential Job Functions

The Test Manager reports to the IS Programme Manager, and is responsible for delivering a full testing service to the IPCC project. 

The Test Manager is responsible for planning and delivery of test preparation and execution in accordance with the agreed Test

Project-managing the testing service to guarantee success;

Constantly balancing cost, timescales and risk levels in order to deliver an excellent testing service regardless of the constraints;

To make recommendations regarding overall fitness for purpose and service readiness of planned changes;

To produce Test Reports and other process deliverables as required;

Carrying out post-project reviews of testing and making recommendations for on-going process improvements;

Team management, including performance appraisals.

The successful candidate will have solid experience of Windows 7 and Office 2010, Visio with good documentation skills.  You must have mobility as this role supports multiple sites (primarily Swindon and Reading but could extend to any site within Thames' area).

You must also have additional technical knowledge of the following:
