Test Manager

Initial 6 month contract with a view to extend.

This large organisation is looking for a Test Manager to undertake the following testing activities:

- Manage the resources of the Testing group, testing databases and testing tools to ensure that knowledge and information is shared and that all the required resources are available to provide quality and timely services.
- Develop, implement and monitor quality assurance developments and test processes. Ensure education and test documentation is provided for all processes.
- Liaise with Program Director, Project Manager and Team Leaders to establish priorities to ensure that testing can be completed on time, in budget and with the appropriate resourcing.
- Liaise with manager and staff in management and project teams to ensure that communication is continuous, that the required resources are available and that the test team is able to provide an effective, responsive and client focused service.
- Produce reports on test activities to ensure that the Chief Information Officer and other relevant senior management keep up to date with activities and emerging issues.

Skills and experience required:

- Expert knowledge of testing phases, testing tools and testing strategies, highly developed ability to form policy and set procedures and standards for quality processes.
- Good knowledge of the software development life cycle, quality control standards, system documentation.
- Well developed management skills, particularly leadership, for the technical aspects of quality, people management skills, projects and resource management skills.
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills for negotiating, liaising and facilitating, preparing and delivering reports, information and presentations: interviewing; sharing information and knowledge with staff.
- Formal qualifications or equivalent experience in quality field.
