Test Facilities Engineer - Contract - Dorset - Great Rates!

Our Client, a large aerospace engineering organisation are looking for a Test Facilities Engineer to be based in Dorset.

Our client is looking for a Test Facilities Engineer to work in an air-to-air refuelling equipment test facility. The facility provides a wide range of test functions involving fuel, hydraulic, motion, force, electrical power and other sub-systems. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the operation, repair and continuous development of all equipment.

An important element of the role is support to engineering development, requiring an ability to elicit test requirements and plan for test preparation, conduct and reporting. An ability to define test configurations and implement any necessary changes to hardware, software and data collection systems is required.

CORE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- You will primarily be responsible for the continued running of the Test Rig
- You will be responsible for maintenance and corrective actions

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

- PLCs - Performing Fault Finding and program modifications (ideally Omron)
- CX Supervisor experience is desirable
- AC Motor Inverter Control
- Process Control, including 3 term controllers, sensors and calibration
- Hydraulic Systems
- Winding systems experience desirable
- DSEAR (ATEX) experience is desirable
- AutoCAD capability is desirable
- Preparation of test procedures and reports
- Management of on-site contractors
- Scheduled & unscheduled maintenance
- Has experience of Electro Mechanical and Fluid Systems

BACKGROUND:

- Candidates will be Electro-Mechanical engineers with a stronger electrical control and automation bias. These engineers probably work in the industrial sector, might be automated production lines, power plants, or other complex test rigs.
- To clarify, we are not looking for aerospace engineers that have had some exposure to some smaller test rig set-ups
- Candidates will be working with sensitive data and as such you should be willing to undergo BPSS (Baseline) & Disclosure Scotland Security Vetting before being able to commence the contract.
