Test Engineer (Electronics) Job

There is TEST ENGINEER (ELECTRONICS) needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in ERIE, PA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Lead the electronics circuit card design verification efforts.
- Develop verification plans and procedures.
- Analyze requirements and develop verification strategy to ensure product compliance.
- Design, develop, test and validate test equipment, fixtures and test software.
- Provide product design for testability input during product development.
- Perform product design verification procedures and create test reports.
- Work with hardware and software engineers to isolate root cause, make design/implementation corrections and complete verification.
- Coordinate with internal and external manufacturing groups to maximize reuse of design verification outputs for manufacturing testing.
- Write manufacturing test specifications, defining equipment and test requirements for manufacturing.
- Validate initial manufacturing test equipment test results.
- Work with electronics hardware, software, and system teams to define standard verification procedures and develop roadmap for test reuse.
- Specify test equipment and prepare justifications for test equipment investment.
- Establish standard practices for Electronics Test Engineering. Create standard templates and checklists to facilitate consistency and improve efficiency.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience test engineering
- Experience with both design and production verification methodologies
- Thorough understanding of modern digital, analog and power circuits including: CPLD, FPGA, JTAG, ADC/DAC, AC/DC conversion, DC/DC conversion, Op-amp, FET, etc.
- Thorough understanding of telecommunications and networking technologies including Ethernet, fiber optics, high speed serial and parallel communications.
- Thorough understanding of Microprocessor and computer architectures and devices such as PCI, PCI-X, PCIe, RAM, Flash, DOC, SOC, etc.
- Experience with software development for test applications
- Experienced with all common electronics laboratory test equipment (eg DMM, MSO/DSO, logic analyzer, protocol analyzer, function generator, power supply, power meter, frequency counter, spectrum analyzer, etc.)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to author plans and procedures. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in collaborative environments. Ability to provide accurate work estimates and status updates.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5+ years of experience as new product development engineer
- Masters Degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering
- 10+ years of new product development design verification experience.
- Experience developing automated test firmware and Embedded software applications
- Clear understanding of signal processing techniques employed within sampling test equipment.
- Experience with Xilinx and/or Altera products and tools including simulation, and diagnostics (eg ChipScope)
- Experience with National Instruments test equipment and LabView
- Experience with vehicle engine control applications
- Experience with vehicle control networks such as CAN, Ethernet, ArcNet, etc.
- Experience with EMC/EMI test requirements and methods
- Experience with shock and vibration test requirements and methods
- Experience with thermal test requirements and methods
