Projektbeschreibung
A successful TEST ENGINEER will serve as our client's customer advocate championing the testing activities for their feature team. The TE will drive the test approach and perform deep testing of our features by performing static analysis of user stories with the goal of truly understanding the feature. Collaborate with the team to help build the right system by using a curious mind to ask the what if questions to help flesh out requirements. The TE will use their knowledge of test design to create rich scenarios that will serve as the input for automation. The TE will also perform all levels of testing including but not limited to exploratory, integration and end-to-end testing by applying the appropriate techniques.
Successful candidates will possess a passion for learning new testing methodologies and techniques and have a natural curiosity to do vigorous deep dive testing. He or she will also possess the technical acumen to test at every layer of our technical stack. The Test Engineer must be easy to work with, an ongoing student of the testing craft, have critical thinking skills and understand testing is an essential component of the entire development life cycle. Because this position requires working in a close-knit team environment, the Test Engineer must quickly learn to trust and rely on his or her teammates realizing that each team member shares the common goal of making the team successful. Therefore, the TE must communicate professionally, clearly and boldly.
RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
- Promote quality within all aspects of development
- Analyze user stories and technical requirements for validity, feasibility and technical soundness
- Apply the appropriate test design based on the technology or application to be tested
- Drive testing strategy conversations to help provide the best experience for our customers
- Execute functional testing such as functional, exploratory, integration and automated regression
- Execute non-functional testing such as browser compatibility, usability and internationalization
- Continuously make improvements to agile processes, testing practices and methods
- Effectively manage individual workload and manage priorities
- Ability to lead medium projects from concept to delivery
- Maintain solid level of knowledge in our client applications
- Demonstrate a passion for learning new processes and techniques
- Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
- Participate in Center of Excellence activities and practice improvements
QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED):
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years of testing experience
- 3-5 years of Scripting experience (eg Ruby, Python or JavaScript)
- In-cycle experience applying testing techniques, eg SCRUM or Kanban
- Experience writing SQL queries and strong knowledge of relational database structures
- 2+ years of UNIX Shell command experience
- Exposure to SOAP and REST testing
- Possess a solid understanding of web applications and common architecture
- Excellent communication skills
