Test Engineer

Will test software that is Embedded in physical devices - bar code scanners and scan engines. Most of this software is written in C. The Test Engineer positions are not about programming, per se, but knowledge in this area helps build the mindset needed to test in our environment. Will also help run or debug our automated tests which are written in C#, C++.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Execute our manual and automated test plans to validate scanner software functionality and user documentation
- Analyze results (documentation issues, setup issues, software bugs, etc)
- Report and track defects resulting from the test effort in a bug tracking tool.
- Work with software developers and other team members to help root-cause any issues found.
- Ensure all timelines are met according to department processes.
- Document deviations to procedures.
- Provide status reports to project test lead

SKILLS:

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in a Software Engineering or Computer Science program are preferred.
- C#, C++ programming experience
- Experience on Windows XP, Win7 and later
- Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel - very important
- Knowledge of software life cycle is a plus.
- Must be very detail oriented, very precise for reading/writing knowledge re: software engineering. Must have good written communication skills.
- Must be task oriented and focused, with attention to detail accuracy.
- Must be reliable with excellent interpersonal, coordination and verbal/written communication skills
