Test Engineer

A major American conglomerate company that produces a variety of commercial and consumer products, engineering services, and aerospace systems is currently seeking two Test Engineers with a strong background in Electromagnetic Environmental Effects standards / specifications in the Redmond, WA, area. This is a 6 month CONTRACT position, with the possibility of extension. Local candidates only, no per diem available. US citizenship required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ownership of the development and qualification for EMI / EMC testing of a system or product
- Assist / Direct the preparation of the EMC Control Plan, the EMC Test Plan / Procedure / Report, the EMC test effort, and participate in EMC system & LRU debug efforts
- Oversight and performance of lab measurements to verify LRU, CCA, and system Signal Integrity, isolate Signal Integrity effects during debug efforts, development of Qual Test Procedures and development of new technologies

REQUIREMENTS

- 8+ years experience
- As mentioned, strong background in Electromagnetic Environmental Effects standards / specifications or equivalent commercial standards
- Experience with creating / editing test documents for each phase of the Qual test cycle
- Experience with operating the test equipment associated with EMI / EMC Qual testing
- Working knowledge of commercial (Boeing, Airbus) or military EMI / EMC test procedures - RTCA DO-160 or MIL-STD 461 / 464
- NARTE certification is highly desirable
- Familiarity with other aspects of EMC including ESD, EMP and lightning induced transients
- Familiarity with LABVIEW for automating EMI test and with EMC design & test requirements for ground systems
