Test Engineer

OUR CLIENT, A LEADING FINANCIAL SERVICE COMPANY IS CURRENTLY SEEKING A TEST ENGINEER TO JOIN THEIR TEAM BASED IN DUBLIN ON A CONTRACT POSITION. THIS JOB REQUIRES EXPERIENCE HIGH LEVEL OF TESTING EXPERIENCE, UNIX, LINUX, AND TEST TOOLS

Job/Opportunity:

The role of a Test Engineer involves working as part of a test team developing & executing tests on applications. Testing involves both manual & automated tests on Front End GUIs and Back End Servers.

* Write Test Specifications from Requirements & Functional Specifications
* Review Test Specifications and the work of other test engineers.
* Provide input into Test Strategies.
* Design & execute manual and automated test cases
* Interact with developers, architects & SMEs to discuss & resolve defects
* Design, implement & maintain Processes & Process documentation
* Clearly, concisely & timely report test status
* Follow organization process and best practices with respect to QA
* Execute regression test cases as part of the overall build process

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

* Bachelors degree or equivalent experience, and 2 to 5 years industry experience.
* Self Discipline/Self Starter/Positive Attitude
* Interpersonal skills
* Attention to Detail
* Analytical
* Good working Unix & Linux
* Integration & system testing
* Test Practice
* Telecommunications network and technology understanding
* Excellent Written & Oral Communication

USEFUL

* Scripting such as Perl, PHP, Shell or programming language such as C++ or Java
* Some working knowledge of databases & tools, Oracle preferred
* GUI test automation - TestNG, Junit, Selenium
* Agile/XP experience
* Test automation
* Web Interface & Internet protocols & technologies
