TEST DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT TECHNICIAN
Location: Oshawa Area
Contract 3 to 6 months $40 per hour
Job Summary:
The job of a Test Development and Support Technician requires advanced formal electronic Technologist or Engineering education, superior problem solving skills and independent decision-making ability. Responsibilities include providing assistance to manufacturing and engineering group as needed, and designing and implementing test and support systems and equipment for current and new development projects. This position reports to the Lead Test Engineer.
Specific Position Duties
Provide support to system design and development activi ties of automated and manual test equipment
Work with product design engineers to develop tester requirements, test procedures, test plans, produce test cases and test descriptions from the product hardware and software specifications.
Design, procure and maintain test equipment and interfaces for production and engineering use
Design, build and assemble complex test fixtures, test benches and harnesses for use by production and engineering as required
Support and sustain Engineering Development and Legacy projects
Document Equipment builds using AutoCAD, Orcad and Microsoft Office products
Verify, review and revise test procedures, assembly drawings and parts lists
Support and Perform Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing Investigations
Analyze circuits using various test equipment including but not limited to; DMM, Oscilloscopes, MilliOhm Meters, LCRs, Logic Analysers
Install, configure and de-bug various serial communication protocol/programs including but notmited to; RS232/RS422/RS485, ARINC 429 and CAN Bus
Recognize and Communicate scheduling issues in a timely manner
Experience using National instruments Labview programs and test hardware
Install and configure Computers in a test environment
Solder and assemble various prototype PWBs
Create, maintain and update documentation using MS Office, ORCAD, AutoCad and/or other tools.

As a minimum an Electrical or Electronics Technologist Diploma/Degree
Proven SystemsTest engineering knowledge and experience
Experience in AutoCAD, Labview, Orcad Capture, MS Excel, MS Word
5 Year experience designing or working with testers in the aerospace industry
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Ability to deal tactfully, ethically and confidently with internal and external customers
Ability to work in a team or individually
Good listening and negotiating skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively; both written and verbal
Solid aerospace system development & integration experience an asset
Experience in requirements specification, analysis and test
